At the turn of the century who knew that Google's AdSense program would turn into such a hit. It started off as nothing more than an experiment and now single-handedly makes this online search conglomerate over a billion dollars in net revenue every single month.

The whole premise is not that difficult to understand. There are millions of websites about different topics that people are going to every single day. Why not put related ads on those websites to other local or national websites that are selling a good or service related to that topic?

To this day there is not a single form of advertising that can be as targeted or effective for the dollars spent as using the AdSense program. Google sells this ad inventory via an auction system. The company who is willing to pay the highest amount gets their ads on all the best sites. The amount a person or company pays for one targeted click can range from ten cents to twenty-five dollars.

Many people claim that "AdWords do not work" but this is simply not true. No company can make over a billion dollars in global sales if they sell a product that does not work.

There are some website and blog owners making anywhere from five dollars per day to over five hundred per day. The results are entirely based from who competitive the keywords are and how much daily traffic they receive.
